Another Life Lost to Gun Crime

It’s a sad reflection of our society when there is so much emphasis on saving the planet, and the fact that we’re all going to be obese if we don’t stop eating fast food, rather than the fact that there’s an increasing number of people – and in particular young people – being the victims of gun crime in the UK.  We have come to expect this from the US.  It’s so common there that we hardly hear about it unless it’s an attack on people in an educational or government institution.  Is this really what we want for our country?

On the Sky News website Commander Chief Superintendent Jon House is quoted as having said, Gun crime is very rare in Sheffield, with only one other fatal shooting in the city in the last 18 months."  Perhaps it is “only” 2 deaths in Sheffield during that period, but what about the statistics of the country overall.  How many deaths have there been due to gun crime in the UK in past 12 months, and how much higher is that than 5 years ago?

Following the massacre of children at Dunblane there was a public outcry about gun control and measures were taken to get guns off the streets.  It would appear from the amount of recent shootings that they’re back and it’s time the powers that be started to get tough again about guns before the situation becomes out of control as it appears to be in the US.  We are not ruled by some dumb decision that gives people the right to carry any kind of weapon so it’s time that our laws against carrying guns was enforced with the same enthusiasm that the US uses to protect its right to do so!

Finally we have had progress with the website. This is what I'm going to change next the sculptra clinic page
